Teen who escaped Nashville detention center found

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say the last of 13 teenagers who escaped from a youth detention center in Nashville has been found.

Metropolitan Nashville Police say the 16-year-old boy was taken into custody at 6:45 a.m. Sunday by an officer on patrol.

Tennessee Department of Children's Services spokesman Rob Johnson said several teens overpowered a guard at the Woodland Hills Youth Development Center about 11 p.m. Friday. They took the guard's radio and keys and let themselves out of a dormitory.

All 13 teens who escaped are back in custody.

The breakout was the latest in a series of problems at Woodland Hills that have alarmed Tennessee authorities, including a mass breakout by 32 teens on Sept. 1. The state has since begun conducting a review of youth detention security in the state.
