CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
(WRCB)- Good Thursday. We will see gradual warming today through Saturday, with clouds, and maybe a shower or two for the Ironman competition Sunday.
Lets start with today. It should be a nice afternoon with our highs reaching about 83. It will stay mostly sunny to partly cloudy from the Cumberland Plateau into the Tennessee Valley. As you move east, however, clouds will thicken this afternoon. We may even see a brief sprinkle or two in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
I expect Friday to be even a little warmer as the high reaches 85. We will see scattered clouds through the day, but the chance of rain is less than 20%.
Saturday will be about the same, but late Saturday a trough of low pressure to our south may push in some scattered showers. For the Ironman competition this Sunday, most models are showing mostly cloudy skies all day, but the latest models are now showing most of the rain staying east, and only a few spotty showers through the day. The rain would pick up Sunday night through Monday with some periods of heavy rain during that time.
It will finally begin to taper off Monday night into Tuesday.
