UPDATE: Crews battle 2 early morning fires

UPDATE: Chattanooga Fire Department reports that there were no injuries reported in a house fire at 4100 9th Avenue in East Lake Thursday morning.

The primary threat came from a live power line that was dangling down to the house that was also touching a fence.

Once EPB was called to disconnect the power, firefighters were able to fully extinguish the blaze, which totaled the unoccupied house.

PREVIOUS STORY: Hamilton County fire crews were busy Thursday morning fighting two house fires.

The first call came in just after 1:30 a.m. on the 2600 block of East 42nd Street. When Chattanooga firefighters got there, the house was fully involved.

The second call came in on the 3100 block of Easton Avenue just after 3 a.m. Red Bank, Walden's Ridge and Dallas Bay fire responded. Crews had the fire out in a few minutes.

Officials believe both houses were vacant. No injuries have been reported.
