Drug take-back event in Bradley and Hamilton Counties

HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) - According to the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services more than 1,000 people in Tennessee die each year from drug overdoses.

Many of those deaths could have been prevented if unused prescriptions were disposed of properly.

The Bradley County Sheriff's Department is offering citizens a chance to get rid of them.

The drug take-back event is going on all week in Bradley County.

You can drop off unused prescription medications at the Bradley County Judicial Center between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through the week and between 10-2 on Saturday.

Also on Saturday, the drug take back event for Hamilton county.

Several different locations are collecting unused medications, some of which are listed below.
