Over 8,500 covered through Health Insurance Marketplace in Hamilton Co.
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
An Enroll America analysis shows 8,558 Hamilton County residents signed up for health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace during the first open enrollment period.
This detailed enrollment data was released by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and this localized data will allow Get Covered America and its partners to zoom in on what enrollment looks like on the community level in Tennessee in preparation for the next enrollment period that begins November 15.
“It's great news that more than 8,500 people got covered in Hamilton County through the Health Insurance Marketplace, but our work here is far from over,” said Jacob Flowers, State Director of Get Covered America-Tennessee.
Get Covered America is also planning to reach out to the thousands of people in Hamilton County who got covered to make sure they understand how to stay covered.
“With the next open enrollment period right around the corner, we'll be working nonstop with our partners like Get Covered Chattanooga and Mayor Andy Berke on getting out the good word about affordable health care to the Chattanooga community,” said Flowers.
The data set released by HHS last week breaks down the total number of sign-ups on the federally-facilitated Marketplace during open enrollment by ZIP code. Enroll America used that data to then show how many individuals enrolled by county.
