CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB)-- The Ooltewah Owl football team is a perfect 5-0 after dispatching East Hamilton Friday night 41-7.
The Owls high octane offense had some help from the defense, which converted two Caleb Rhodes passes into interceptions for touchdowns.
It was a tied game at 7 when Adrian Hall grabbed the first pick six, taking it all the way down the Hurricane sideline for paydirt.
Ooltewah would kick a field goal before Rhodes, near his goal line, heaved a deep post pass that Rashun Freeman plucked from the air near midfield and scampered all the way back to the Hurricanes end zone for the proverbial back breaking play of the game. " The defense did a great job, made some big plays and the pick six twice," said a drenched Mac Bryan after the game. " I thought offensively, we hurt ourselves a lot with penalties throughout the first half but we played real well on defense. They were taking the ball away, turnovers are the name of the game."
In all, East Hamilton surrendered seven turnovers, five of which were fumbles in addition to the two pick six interceptions as the Hurricanes fall to a disappointing 1-4 mark
