CHATTANOOGA,TN (WRCB)---Monday could be D-Day for The Chattanooga Lookouts and the team's future affiliation with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Its been widely reported that Dodger management wants to overhaul it's feeder system of clubs in the coming off season, which purportedly includes the Chattanooga franchise.
Underscoring the speculation is the recent Dodger move of buying the Triple A affiliate Oklahoma City RedBirds and published reports already presaging the Dodgers Double A team of next year will be in Tulsa, Oklahoma, not Chattanooga.
Add to that, The relative quiet Dodger extension of their P-D-C, or player development contract, with their Single A Pioneer League affiliate Ogden, Utah's Raptors.
But nothing said publicly in regards to Double A Chattanooga, Albuquerque, New Mexico; The Dodgers' current Triple A affiliate and Single A squads Rancho Cucamonga and the Great Lakes Loons.
Also adding to the Lookouts immediate uncertainty, the expected sale of the team from longtime owner Frank Burke.
Sunday night, I spoke with Lookouts General Manager Rich Mozingo who says he can't comment on Dodger affiliation or the possible impending sale of the team.
Mozingo says they expect to hear something as early as Monday morning.
