PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a police-involved shooting that resulted in the death of a man in Pigeon Forge.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says authorities were told that two wanted people were believed to be in Sevier County. The TBI says several officers from the Pigeon Forge Police Department approached them at a Wendy's restaurant on Saturday night.

Officers fired at least one shot during a confrontation. The TBI says 43-year-old James Bradley Phillips was hit by a shot and killed.

Police arrested 36-year-old Monica Leigh-Ann Briggs, who was accompanying Phillips. Both people had been wanted for questioning in connection with a recent homicide in Campbell County.

The TBI is investigating at the request of the District Attorney Jimmy Dunn.
