UPDATE: I-75 NB re-opened in Catoosa County after accident

UPDATE: Georgia State Patrol tells Channel 3 an SUV hauling a moving trailer lost control in the Northbound lanes and flipped in the median. Investigators say five people were in the vehicle, some of them children. The driver had to be airlifted from the scene. The other passengers were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. All lanes are back open.

UPDATE: The emergency shoulder lane of traffic was opened at 8:30 p.m.

All lanes of I-75 Northbound were shut down at mile marker 351 in Catoosa County, just North of the Battlefield Parkway exit Saturday.

Georgia State Patrol handled an accident that happened around 7:45 Saturday evening.

There is no word on the number of people involved or the extent of injuries. Avoid the area if you can. Police expect all lanes to be reopened by 9:00 p.m.
