CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - Memorial services are being held across the country in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks 13 years ago.

In Hamilton County, a Patriot Day prayer event is scheduled to take place at noon at the Hamilton County Courthouse located 625 Georgia Avenue.

Also, this weekend, a group of Chattanooga firefighters is hosting a 9/11 Stair Climb. Participants will be able to climb 110 flights of stairs just as firefighters did when they responded to calls at the World Trade Center.

Everyone who participates in the event represents the 343 firefighters who died attempting to save others. Money raised from the event will go to benefit the National Firefighters Foundation that provides support for surviving family members and co-workers.

Registration is $30 and begins at 7 a.m. Saturday. The event starts at 8 a.m. at the Suntrust Bank Building, 736 Market Street,  in Chattanooga.
