Good Thursday. We have already seen a few spotty areas of rain, and more widespread showers and storms are on the way. Get ready for warm, humid air through early afternoon with our highs reaching about 89. This afternoon will bring more widely scattered showers and storms as the cold front slowly drifts through.
It will keep rain in the forecast through tonight and into Friday. For today, the rain chance will be fairly high at about 60%. I don't think we will see as much rain Friday, but as the front begins to stall to our east, we will continue to see mostly cloudy skies with a few showers popping up on and off through Friday afternoon as well. The high Friday will be about 86.
For the weekend, it will mostly be about cooler air and lower humidity. Highs will be in the low 80s, and lows will be in the mid 60s. That is normal for this time of year, by the way. One thing I will be watching, though, will be the position of the front. It will stall to our east, and, even this weekend, could produce a few spotty showers in parts of north Georgia, and up into the Blue Ridge. the chance of rain for those areas is small, though, at 20%.
