SODDY-DAISY, TN. (AP) - The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is seeking public comment on the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant's environmental impact.

Commission staff will hold two public meetings in Soddy-Daisy to present the findings of a draft study. It looks at the impact of renewing the operating licenses of Sequoyah Nuclear Plant units 1 and 2. The draft report concludes that environmental impacts of the plant do not preclude renewing its licenses for another 20 years.

The public meetings take place on Sept. 17 at Soddy-Daisy City Hall. There will be a public comment period after the presentation of the draft study. Written comments will be accepted through Sept. 29.

The draft report is available at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's website.
