DNA evidence reveals the identity of a notorious criminal

Posted: Updated:
A new book claims to have unlocked the mystery of the notorious London killer, Jack the Ripper, using DNA evidence.

Author Russel Edwards says he has conclusive proof that Jack the ripper was in fact a Polish man named Aaron Kosminski.

He claims that a tiny trace of DNA evidence on a Victorian shawl links Kosminski to the deaths of five women in east London in 1888.

The shawl was found next to the body of the Ripper's fourth victim.

Edwards purchased it and passed it on to a forensic scientist from Finland who says DNA doesn't lie.
