GA system forms campus safety review committee

Posted: Updated:

ATLANTA (AP) - The University System of Georgia is forming a new committee to review campuses' response to sexual harassment, violence and other public safety issues.

Chancellor Hank Huckaby announced the group on Tuesday in Atlanta. The committee members will also study campus law enforcement agencies and crime statistics reporting. They are expected to make recommendations to Huckaby by May.

Huckaby says the safety of everyone on Georgia's 31 campuses is a concern and a priority.

Georgia College and State University President Steve Dorman and Georgia Institute of Technology President Bud Peterson are committee co-chairs. Administrators and students from various locations make up the committee.
