(WRCB) - Good Saturday. Get ready for another round of storms this afternoon and evening, then we should dry out for a few days.
A cold front will slide in this afternoon, and, as highs reach the upper 80s, we should have pretty good coverage of thunderstorms into the evening hours. I don't expect any severe weather other than some heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds. If you are headed to Finley Stadium to watch the Mocs take on Jacksonville State, you certainly may be dealing with a storm or two, especially at the start of the game at 6pm.
The front will pass through tonight, and even though I will will leave in a 20% chance for a stray shower, the overall trend for Sunday will be for more stable air to settle in. Most of us will see a nice mix of sun and clouds with a seasonal high of 86.
The chance of rain will be next to nothing, and we will continue to see highs in the mid to upper 80s through Tuesday. Lows will be in the upper 60s.
Another front approaches Wednesday, and will bring widespread showers and storms Wednesday and Thursday. We may see a few storms lingering into Friday morning, but we will clear out rapidly Friday, and cooler, drier air wills settle in.
I expect the high Friday to get to about 85, then we will see it cooling rapidly through the evening behind breezy, NW winds. The low heading into next Saturday morning will drop to 61, and the high will only climb to 79 with mostly sunny skies!
I expect next Sunday to be just as nice with a high near 80.
