Warrant sweep lands 20 violators in jail

Posted: Updated:

A day-long operation by the combined forces of the Chattanooga Police Department, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and Tennessee Department of Correction resulted in 20 arrests of probation and parole violators on outstanding warrants Wednesday.

The sweep started at 7:00am.

“Through this collaboration, we were able to help make our streets safer in a short amount of time,” stated CPD Sgt. Tim Tomisek, who acted as a leader during the day-long operation.  “All agencies work with finite resources, but initiatives like this allow agencies to combine our resources for greater efficiency and a more substantial impact for our community.”

Robert Reburn, TDOC East Tennessee Region Public Information Officer said “The Tennessee Department of Correction is very dedicated to its mission of enhancing public safety. We feel that through initiatives like yesterday's operation, with the assistance of CPD and HCSO, our field service agents and probation and parole officers are able to achieve that mission here in Chattanooga.”
