Robbinsville man arrested for robbery

MURPHY, NC (WRCB) - The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office arrested 57-year-old Ronnie Kenneth Shuler, of Robbinsville North Carolina for Common Law Robbery, Assault, and Injury to Personal Property charges stemming from a domestic dispute.

Investigators tell Channel 3 in the early morning hours of August 31 a female called Cherokee County Dispatch requesting assistance with a domestic dispute in the Ranger Community of Cherokee County. 

Upon their arrival investigators gathered that Shuler had broken into the bathroom of the female's residence and dragged her from the bathroom to the bedroom where he removed her pants and then took money from the female's pants pocket. 

The victim was given medical attention for bruises, scrapes and scratches received during the altercation by Cherokee County Emergency Services personnel.

Shuler, who had left the residence prior to the arrival of the deputies, was stopped and brought to the Cherokee County Detention Center and placed on a $5,000 secure bond which he made. Shuler is scheduled to appear in Cherokee County District Court on September 16, 2014.
