Labor Day marathon tradition continues

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - The heat didn't stop several runners and walkers from getting out Monday morning.
Hundreds were up early for the 26th annual 5K/10K race for FCA.

This year there were three different runs, the 5 and 10-K, the Junior Marathon, and the Kiddie-K.

The event, which is held each year at Chattanooga State, has become a Labor Day tradition.

Chad Varga, FCA: "It was a great day, it was an awesome day for a race and we had a fantastic turnout."

Race organizers say about 500 people participated in Monday's race.

All proceeds go to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
