UPDATE: Channel 3 is learning more information about how a 3 year old Soddy Daisy boy died last week.
According to the affidavit, deputies arrived at the Jenkins Circle house on reports of a drowning. There, they found another family member performing CPR. He was taken to T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital where doctors said his conditions were not consistent with a drowning. The suspect, Justin Dale Bradley, was also in the residence.
Doctors said Dakota had bruising on his forehead, chest, back, buttocks and groin area. Further medical tests revealed he also had a dislocated shoulder, bi-lateral retinal hemorrhaging and severe brain swelling.
At the time of these events, Dakota's mother, Brianaa Kwekel, was at the CCA Silverdale Workhouse.
According to the affidavit, Bradley told deputies he woke Dakota up from a nap and "picked him up and threw him forcefully into the tub which was empty." The arrest report continues, "Bradley stated the child made no noise and just laid there. Bradley then went outside to tend to several dogs... When he returned approximately 5 minutes later Dakota was lying in the tub motionless."
Bradley was arrested and charged with criminal homicide. The 23 year old was also arrested earlier this month on an assault charge. According to deputies, he grabbed Kwekel and threw her on the ground outside the Jenkins Circle home they'd been sharing the past three months. He was booked into jail on a domestic assault charge August 4.
UPDATE: Hamilton County investigators have arrested and charged 23-year-old Justin Dale Bradley with criminal homicide for the death of 3-year-old Dakota James Arndt.
The Sheriff's Office reports Bradley is the boyfriend of the boy's mother.
