CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
Chattanooga's World of Beer bar is the place to be if you want to treat your palate to more than 500 types of beer.
General Manager Kevin Strech says there are 50 different beers on tap, and 556 bottled varieties.
But if you don't know what to choose, the staff will help.
Employees go through a two-week training course to learn about the different types of brew and which one goes best with which type of food.
Staff members also travel the world tasting and experiencing other beers, bringing what they've learned back to the Chattanooga restaurant.
Employees will also host a "beer school" for the public. For $15 “students” get six beers and learn about their favorite type of beer.
The establishment will also offer a loyalty program, with gifts and prizes for customers who hit different point levels. There's even a smartphone app that allows beer aficionados to track what brews they've tried and tasted.
World of Beer's grand opening is set for Friday, August 29th at 7:00pm.
The pub will have live music each night for the first nine nights after opening, followed by live music regularly each Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
Strech says the biggest event on tap for them this year is WOBtober fest.
