CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
A 31-year-old woman faces charges of assault and viable fetus as a victim after she reportedly help beat up her sister-in-law who is six months pregnant, according to a Chattanooga police arrest report.
Idelelizza Godinez, 31, was arrested Wednesday night after police received a call from the victim.
The victim told officers that she approached her husband and his two sisters at a residence on South Greenwood Avenue.
She asked them for money for her child. The sisters began to strike the woman and told her that no one would help her. They said her husband, Geovani, would take her car away if she contacted police, according to the report.
Police noticed marks on the victim's lower back and hands. The victim said Godinez pushed her from behind and kicked at her. The report does not state if the second sister was taken into custody and charged.
Godinez posted a $4,000 bond. Her next court date is scheduled for Sept. 12 before Hamilton County Sessions Court Judge Christine Sell.
