Hot through Saturday, with Labor Day weekend storms

Posted: Updated:

Good Wednesday.  We are really going to crank up the thermostat through the rest of the week.  Yesterday we had highs in the upper 80s.  Going forward, we will break 90 every afternoon through Saturday.

For today, the air is slightly more humid and our high will reach about 92 in Chattanooga.  The morning and evening hours should still be pretty comfortable, but between 3pm and 6pm the heat may be a bit much.

Tonight will cool down nicely once again.  The low will drop into the mid to upper 60s.

Even hotter, more humid weather will creep in on Thursday afternoon as the high reaches 94 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

Friday will be just as hot, but models are indicating the air may be a bit drier through the day as we get a very brief break from the humidity.

Saturday, we should be able to reach a high of 93 before scattered showers and thunderstorms develop ahead of a front late in the day Saturday.

The front will be a slow mover, and will keep the chance of rain in the forecast on and off through the day Sunday and into Labor Day also.
