BRYANT, AL (WRCB) - Deputies from the Jackson County (AL) Sheriff's Office were forced to shoot a man as he approached them with two weapons Thursday night.

The deputies were responding to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on County Road 291 in Bryant, AL.

The suspect, Jerry David Nunley, 44, was ordered to drop the weapons by deputies.

He then approached the deputies, with a weapon in each hand and threatened to kill them, according to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

As Nunley approached the deputies, he raised one of the weapons and was shot by one of the deputies.

Nunley was then airlifted from Bryant to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

The Alabama Bureau of Investigations is expected to investigate the shooting, which will be presented to a future Grand Jury in Jackson County.
