Good Friday! It's all about the heat and humidity. There is even a HEAT ADVISORY for northeast Alabama for this afternoon and Saturday afternoon.
For today and Saturday, highs will be in the mid 90s in Chattanooga. The heat index will be near 100 during the heat of the day. I don't expect much (if any) rainfall. Only a stray storm or two are possible, but, again, not likely.
Sunday will be in the low 90s, but a low pressure center backing in from the east will provide some widespread showers and storms Sunday afternoon.
Monday afternoon we will see some of those showers and storms redeveloping as that low continues to hang around. Look for a high Monday near 90.
Tuesday and Wednesday will also be near 90 degrees, but we will be dry as that low will continue to drift west, away from the area.
That low will merger with a front Thursday that will come back in from the west, and that will bring showers and storms back into the forecast for Thursday afternoon.
Friday will be dry rounding out the week. The high Friday will be 90.
