CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
A big makeover is happening soon to the Incline Railway on Lookout Mountain. More than 150-thousand dollars was given to Lookout Mountain to make upgrades to the Incline Railway. Officials say the Incline Railway gives the public a safe way to get up and down the mountain and see the views.
John Schroer, Commissioner of Transportation, "This is an intricate part of Lookout and Chattanooga tourism is such a big part, Incline has a big history, started in the 1890's."
The grant was matched by city money. More than 300-thousand people go up and down the incline each year.
