UPDATE: School crossing guard struck while working in school zone

HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -

UPDATE: The school crossing guard hit by a vehicle while working in a school zone has been identified.
Noelle Bittle was standing on the the double yellow line attempting to stop traffic when she was hit.

The driver of the vehicle told police he did not see her until it was too late and he was unable to stop.  

Bittle received several lacerations on her face and body, and a broken arm.

No charges are pending against the driver at this time.

UPDATE:  A school crossing guard was injured Monday morning while working in a school zone.  The guard was struck by a passing vehicle.

Chattanooga dispatch says the incident happened just before 8:00 a.m. on Browns Ferry Road near Lookout Valley Elementary.

The crossing guard was taken to the hospital for a broken arm and possible head injuries.   The injuries are not considered to be life threatening.
