KNOXVILLE (News Sentinel) - A 22-year-old South Knoxville man has been caught twice this month trying to escape from the Knox County Sheriff's Office detention facility.

Travis Aaron Hux, who gave an Avenue A address, even offered another inmate $3,000 to assume his identity so he could be released on bond, records show.

Hux was in the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on Maloneyville Road on two counts of aggravated burglary in which he allegedly stole thousands of dollars of electronic equipment and other personal belongings, domestic assault, criminal impersonation, two counts of criminal trespassing and theft, according to records.

On Aug. 1, records show, Hux took the picture from his inmate identification card and placed it on the inmate card of a 62-year-old detainee. The older inmate was being bonded out and Hux apparently hoped to assume the other man's identity.
