Army Veteran receives keys to a mortgage free home
Sergeant Rubin Anderson and his family were handed the keys to their new house in Chattanooga Thursday morning. Neighbors and city leaders joined them to celebrate before they entered.
Bank of America and the Military Warriors Support Foundation provided them the mortgage-free home that came complete with furniture. The good news continued after the Pledge of Allegiance, they were handed gift certificates for free braces for the retired army sergeants 6 kids.
The Sgt. Girlfriend LaStar Sims says, “I can’t believe this I am still speechless. I was thinking are we really getting a house. I am so happy for him.Rubin never thinks about himself. I have to make him. So getting this means everything he gaveworth it.”
Sergeant Rubin Anderson joined the US Army in 2002, was awarded the Purple Heart and served two tours in Iraq and Kuwait before he was injured by an explosive device. He says, “after all I have been through, today is a dream come true.
