Road construction and repairs over the weekend

Road construction and repairs are underway in several spots in the Tennessee Valley over the weekend and rolling into the coming week.

Motorists should observe road signs marking construction zones and changes in speed limits.

The westbound lane of the 8600 block of East Brainerd Road will be closed for a water line repair project starting Friday, August 1st at 7:00pm and will be re-opened on Saturday, August 2nd by 6:00am.    
Westbound traffic will be detoured north on Morris Hill Road towest on Igou Gap Road, then south on Grays Road to Jenkins Road, and then back to East Brainerd Road.
Motorists are advised to use caution when approaching the intersection of East Brainerd Road, Hurricane Creek Road and Morris Hill Road, there will be traffic pattern changes for all approaches to the intersection.

There will be some nighttime lane closures on Dayton Blvd. starting Monday, August 4 between the hours of 7:00pm and 6:00am as very large bridge beams are set on the ramp bridge over Dayton Blvd. This portion of Dayton Blvd. will be totally closed to traffic for the safety of motorists. Drivers will be detoured to U.S. 27 South then onto Manufacturers Rd. and Cherokee Blvd. Drivers traveling on Dayton Blvd. toward Red Bank/Signal Mountain Rd. from downtown will be detoured to Cherokee Blvd., Manufacturers Rd., Hamm Rd., Pineville Rd. and Signal Mountain Rd. to Dayton Blvd. Weather could delay this work. The THP will assist with traffic control.

Resurfacing from Lakewood Acres Road (LM. 9.20) to Greenwood Road (LM 14.68)

Bridge at the Exit 20 interchange in Cleveland. Work requiring interstate lane closures is limited to Sunday through Thursday nights between 7:00pm - 6:00am. Signs will be posted and flaggers will assist with traffic control if needed.  THP will assist with traffic control as necessary during interstate lane closures.  Estimated project completion date is November 2015.  

Installation of traffic signals at the intersection of SR-308 (LM 19.41), including grading, drainage, and paving.   Flaggers will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is August 2014.
