While soccer players are warming up on the pitch, soccer announcers are prepping their vocal chords by munching on apples.

Vienna, VA (PRWEB) July 08, 2014

They were thrilled by Team USAs a-peel-ing performance in the FIFA World Cup, then shaken to the core by the teams heartbreaking round of 16 loss. But now, U.S. Apple Association has found a bite of solace by learning savvy soccer announcers have been fueled by apples throughout the celebrated tournament to prepare for their Goooooal! calls.

According to numerous reports, while the players are warming up on the pitch, soccer announcers are fueling their vocal chords by munching on apples, said Wendy Brannen, USApples Director of Consumer Health and Public Relations. We all know apples are not only delicious but benefit our health from head to toe. Its fun to discover top soccer announcers turn to apples to lubricate their throats as they make the most celebrated call of all global sports.

According to a recent New York Times feature, Galvão Bueno, one of the best-known working sportscasters in Brazil, eats apples to moisten his throat hours before he narrates a game. (Source: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/20/sports/worldcup/a-chorus-of-goooooool-the-siren-song-of-soccer.html?_r=1)

The New York Times author then shared with Public Radio Internationals The World: A lot of these guys do exercises just like singers do. They dont drink distilled beverages because, for some reason, it affects the chemical balance of your vocal chords. They do things like eating apples before a game, because eating apples moistens the vocal chords. (Source: http://www.pri.org/stories/2014-07-01/when-did-simple-goal-become-goooooooooooooal)

Were delighted to know that our beautiful fruit plays an important role in the beautiful game, added Brannen. It makes the long wait for Team USAs return in the 2018 World Cup a little easier to swallow. Until then, we encourage everyone to continue eating apples to help them achieve their essential health gooooooooooaaaaallllsss!
