NEW YORK, July 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Award-winning airport retail developer MarketPlace Development announced today that the Food & Shops at LaGuardia's Terminal B will receive a major overhaul in 2014.

Redevelopment for Food & Shops at LaGuardia Airport

With a new terminal slated to start construction in 2015, the redevelopment will provide much needed upgrades for the existing aging terminal.  Improvements will include exciting new shops and restaurants, enhanced amenities and infrastructure upgrades for HVAC and escalators in the food courts.

New specialty stores will include America!, Desigual, Eddie Bauer, LaCoste, L'Occitane, Lick, Ruby Blue and Tumi. InMotion Entertainment and Duty Free Americas are also scheduled to remodel and will debut fresh looks.

New and improved food options include Bowery Bay Cafe, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Piccolo Mercato, Six Block Bakery, Sorrentine, and Villa Italian Kitchen.  Au Bon Pain will perform a full remodel on all of their units and add a handmade sandwich bar to their 24-hour operation in food court near Gates D.

Upgraded amenities at Terminal B include a switch to Bank of America ATMs, with the added benefit of customer deposits, and the addition of The CenturionSM Lounge, which will provide upscale lounge services to American Express card members. Infrastructure projects include upgrades to HVAC, escalator, restrooms, seating and charging stations in the food courts.

"The Food & Shops program at LGA has won some of the most prestigious awards in the industry, and our goal is to continue to provide travelers with an exceptional shopping and dining experience and up-to-date amenities as a new terminal is being built," says Paul McGinn, president of MarketPlace Development.

Construction has begun and will continue to take place throughout the summer and fall period. All construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.  For more information, visit www.shoplaguardia.com
