Sewer deadbeats: no more water for you

If you haven’t paid your sewage bills, the City of Chattanooga will begin cutting off your water supply.

Starting next Tuesday, water service interruptions will begins for both commercial and residential customers with over $1,000 in overdue sewage bills, according to a news release from the city.

About 100 commercial and 25 residential customers will be affected.

But on July 7, water service interruption for overdue sewer bills of less than $1,000 begins.

The city states that they have made multiple attempts to notify property owners of their overdue bills, including notices included on monthly bills and multiple phone calls.

Property owners with overdue sewer bills should call (423) 425-6311 to establish a payment plan and avoid water service interruption, or express concerns.
