Traffic stop nets arrests for controlled substances violations

MURPHY, NC (WRCB) -
Deputies from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, stopped a vehicle on Andrews Road in Murphy North Carolina early Tuesday morning.

During the stop items of paraphernalia and bags of methamphetamine were found in the passenger area of the vehicle. 

Peggy Celena Ledford was charged with Possess Drug Paraphernalia, Possession With The Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Possess Methamphetamine, Simple Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance.

Ledford was set a $10,000.00 secure bond and is currently being detained in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting a July 8th  Cherokee County District Court date.

Christopher Mowery was charged with Possess Drug Paraphernalia, Possess Methamphetamine and Failure to Appear on a Misdemeanor was set a $17,500.00 secure bond and is currently being detained in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting a July 8th  Cherokee County District Court date.

Darian Dre’von Smith was charged with Misdemeanor Larceny, Possess Drug Paraphernalia, Possess Methamphetamine and was set a $11,000.00 secure bond and is currently being detained in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting a July 8th Cherokee County District Court date.
