UPDATE: Missing Gilmer County man suffering from Alzheimer's has been located

GILMER COUNTY, GA (WRCB) - UPDATE: Gilmer Co. officials report that Earl "Tater" Townsend was found by a motorist on Tails Creek Road Wednesday afternoon. 
The motorist contacted authorities, who took Mr. Townsend to the hospital to be checked out and united with his family.   An official said that Townsend seemed to be in good condition.

UPDATE: 
The Gilmer County Sheriff's Office reports on their Facebook page that Earl "Tater" Townsend has been located.  No other information as to his condition or where he was located has been released.  We will update this story as information becomes available.

Authorities with the Gilmer County Sheriff's Office are continuing the search for 68-year-old Earl "Tater" Townsend who has dementia and Alzheimer's.

Townsend is a white male, and weighs 175 pounds and is 5'-3" in height.

Townsend was last seen Sunday, June 15 around 8 p.m. on foot in the area of  Ridgway Circle/ Ridgeway Church Road and Lakeland Drive which is 12 miles out Highway 282 which is close to the Murray County line.

Authorities are asking anyone if they have seen Townsend, to call Gilmer County Dispatch as soon as possible at 706-635-8911 or dial 911.
