UPDATE: Chattooga County Sheriff's Office searching for weapon used in homicide

UPDATE: The Chattooga County Sheriff's Office is draining a local pond as they search for a murder weapon.

Police believe they will find a Colt-45 handgun that Deborah Elaine Wilkins apparently used to kill her boyfriend, William Robert Packer.

According to police the two had a violent history together.

Packer had murder charges against him dropped in 2010.

Police say Wilkins confessed to killing Packer and also led officials to the pond where she apparently dumped the gun.

The Chattooga County  Georgia sheriff's office is investigating a homicide.

The victim has been identified as William Robert Packer from Summerville.

The incident happened at the victim's home off John Jones Road.

Officers have been on the scene since Saturday afternoon.

Sheriff Mark Schrader is now releasing any details about a suspect right now, but told Channel 3 he should have information to release later today.
