ATLANTA (AP) - GA Department of Natural Resources officials say several events are scheduled to celebrate National Great Outdoors Month.

Department officials say Gov. Nathan Deal and Georgia's First Lady Sandra Deal are scheduled to kick off Great Outdoors Month Friday at Sweetwater Creek State Park near Lithia Springs.

Department officials say free admission to the state park will be offered to visitors Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Officials say paddle boarding, archery and tree climbing are some of the free activities that will be offered on Get Outdoors Georgia Day, which is Saturday.

Events will be hosted at state parks all across Georgia and more information may be found online.
