Mother charged in baby's death gets $600,000 bond
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A Memphis woman charged with murder in the death of her 7-week-old daughter has been given a $600,000 bond.
Aniston Walker was reported missing Jan. 9 by the baby's father. The mother, Andrea Walker, told police she left Aniston at home with her 3-year-old brother, and Aniston was gone when Walker returned. Five weeks later, the girl's body was found in a ditch near a Millington road by a motorcyclist.
A medical examiner ruled the death a result of "homicidal violence" but did not detail what kind of violence was involved.
Walker had been free on a $250,000 bond before Aniston's body was found and Walker's bond was revoked.
The Commercial Appeal reports (http://bit.ly/1kTNuc8) Shelby County Criminal Court Judge Mark Ward set the new bond on Friday.
