UPDATE: Man charged 2nd degree murder in woman's death

MCMINN COUNTY, TN (WRCB) - UPDATE: Athens police have added another charge against Adrian Hall, one of second degree murder in the death Janie Hall.

Janie hall was found with a cut on her leg Friday, June 6, by emergency responders. She became unconscious, stopped breathing, and was transported to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced dead.


Athens Police have charged a McMinn County man with reckless aggravated assault while they await medical information in a woman's death.

First responders were called to a wooded area off Congress Parkway near Velma Road around 2:00pm Friday. Fity-one year old Janie Hall was found with a cut on her leg.  EMS began efforts to assist her at the scene. 

A police report states she went unconscious and stopped breathing.  Hall was transported to the hospital, and pronounced dead.

41-year old Adrian Hall was questioned at the scene.  He reportedly said the cut was the result of an accident.

Police charged him with aggravated assault pending the return of further information on the victim.
