Oklahoma governor signs bill to repeal Common Core
The Common Core fallout continues. The Governor of Oklahoma has signed a bill to repeal the Common Core education standards. The bill requires the state to return to old standards in place before 2010 and calls for new ones to be developed by 2016. The common core standards have been adopted by more than 40 states in an effort to better prepare students for college and the workforce. But there has been a growing concern that the standards represent a federal takeover of education.
