Dining out this weekend?

The inspectors at the Hamilton County Health Department inspected 12 restaurants this week. According to Chief Inspector Jack Falcon, his team is busy inspecting area pools this time of year.

There’s a low score to pass along to you, and it's not good news at all for one restaurant on Lee Highway that comes in with a score of 50.

Remember a failing grade is anything lower than a 70. Get ready for this one at Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet. Remember they have ten days to correct all critical violations.

Inspectors found chemicals leaking onto the food, raw sewage backed up in the women's restroom, cooks
not washing their hands, the chicken was out of proper temperature range, there were improperly stored food items and finally the floors, walls and ice machine were filthy and need cleaning.

Once again they serve up a 50.

The high score of the week is a new sandwich shop that just opened on Gunbarrel
Road called Jersey Mike's. Welcome to
town as they get a score of 97.

Remember, any complaints about a restaurant, hotel or motel, day care or a place you work out, call the Hamilton County Health Department  Hotline at (423) 209-8110 or feel free to
and I'll pass your comments directly to Chief Inspector Jack Falcon and he assigns your concerns to one of his employees usually that same day.

This week, inspectors will be monitoring all the food vendors at Riverbend.

Enjoy the festival and enjoy your meal.
