CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
Good Friday! If you like the weather pattern we have been stuck in, you will be giddy about the forecast through next week.
We start out with a little patchy dense fog this morning, then the heat and humidity take over for a few hours as temps climb into the upper 80s. The heat index will range from 90 to 95.
That stubborn stationary front continues to provide an unstable atmosphere that will combine with the afternoon heating and abundant surface moisture to provide more spotty showers and storms this afternoon and evening. The timing of the storms will range from noon to about 9pm. By the time Gary Allan takes the Coke Stage tonight at 9:30, the storms should be tapering, but don't be surprised if one or two survive into the late night.
We will do it again Saturday with a high of 89, and isolated storms during the afternoon and evening hours.
A front will pass through Sunday, giving us more widespread showers and storms Sunday afternoon.
The pattern for next week looks similar. I am seeing lots of warm, humid air, and at least a chance of a storm or two each day.
