What's new at Riverbend?

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - Riverbend starts Friday and whether this is your 33rd time taking in the acts on the waterfront, or it's your very first visit, there are some big changes this year you'll want to know about.

A silent disco will let you dance to your own music with wireless headphones. And the big change...Riverbend got rid of the traditional pin this year.  Admission has changed to wristbands.  The 8-day wristband is removable, so you don't have to wear it to work all week.  It has a barcode on it, and must be scanned when coming in, or leaving the festival before 10.
Organizers hope this stops multiple people entering on one admission.

Amy Morrow, Friends of the Festival, "That's why we want to make sure folks know to scan out when they leave. If they leave something in the car, if they want to bop over to Blue Plate and have a cocktail and come back, they need to scan out."

Also, new this year is the Riverbend Festival app. When you get in, simply scan the q-r code to take your mobile device directly to a site to navigate the festival,  parking, performers, tokens, and more.

Gates open at 5pm.
