East Ridge Police have arrested a North Georgia man accused of trying to hire someone to murder his ex-girlfriend's son.

Police arrested Joshua Patterson Monday and charged him with solicitation of murder.

A police report states officers spoke with Patterson's ex-girlfriend after they responded to a disturbance on prater road. Police say Patterson used racial slurs when he told his ex he was going to "tie her son behind his truck and drag him down the road. "

Patterson's wife told officers that she spoke with him on the phone on Friday and he offered her $400 to  "put him in a hole."

The wife and ex-girlfriend say Patterson believes his daughter and the boy are having a relationship and  he doesn't approve.

He remains in the Hamilton County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
