CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
Boston is an American rock band from…yep, you guessed it. Boston, Massachusetts.
They’re known as a huge crowd pleaser with their high-energy on stage. Their sound is characterized by multiple lead and blended harmonies, alternating between and mixing electric and acoustic guitars. The band's harmonic style has been characterized as being "violin-like" without using synthesizers.
Although the band achieved most of its success during the 1970s and 1980s, they’re still rocking today with eight members: Tom Scholz, Gary Pihl, Curly Smith, Kimberley Dahme, Jeff Neal, Tommy DeCarlo, David Victor and Tracy Ferrie.
Each of the band members play multiple instruments on stage. So if you like a lot of instruments, this show is for you.
To this day, Boston is a staple on all classic rock playlists. The band is best-known for their songs "More Than a Feeling," "Peace of Mind, "Don't Look Back" and "Amanda.”
Boston has sold over 31 million albums in the United States, 17 million of which were for their self-titled first album and 7 million were for their second album, Don't Look Back.
Altogether, Boston has released six studio albums.
Right now, the band is on tour for their latest album Life, Love & Hope. The Riverbend Festival is just one stop on that 66-city tour.
Boston will perform on the Coca Cola Stage at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11.
