Riverbend Festival 2014: Get to know The Black Cadillacs
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
The Black Cadillacs are a 6-piece, blues-based indie rock band from Knoxville, TN.
They feature two guitar players, bass, drums, keyboards… and a stand-alone frontman. With band members from each of Tennessee’s major cities, the volunteer state’s famous sounds are well represented.
It all started with first cousins Will Horton and Matthew Hyrka. Together, they founded the band with lifelong friend and neighbor, Philip Anderson. The lineup was completed in 2009 with the additions of John Phillips and Adam Bonomo.
With Nashville’s recent brand of rock ‘n’ roll revival, Memphis’ soul, and Knoxville’s roots, The Black Cadillacs’ music forms an authentic and original sound. They have diverse influences such as The Rolling Stones, The Who, Queens Of The Stone Age and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
A description is one thing. You need to hear it to believe it. And their live set is where this well-orchestrated, yet explosive blend comes to life.
The band is currently touring with performances at Bonnaroo, Summerfest, The Hangout, and others in support of their new summer single, “Radio Silence.” Some of their other well-known songs are “Damaged Girl,” “Desperate” and “Something to Shake.”
The Black Cadillacs will perform on the Bud Light Stage at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11.
