Chattanooga police arrest one in juvenile's shooting

Posted: Updated:

Chattanooga police have made an arrest in a shooting that left a juvenile wounded earlier this week.

Alfred "Milk" Wyatt, 18, faces charges of attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon.

The victim was accused of robbing Wyatt's cousin before the shooting.

Channel 3 Eyewitness News is not naming the victim because he is under age.

Witnesses at the scene told police they saw a front seat passenger open fire from a dark colored vehicle.

Wyatt drove by the victim in the 1800 block of East 12th Street twice Monday night. Then, on the third time, Wyatt opened fire. The youth was wounded in the arm, according to the affidavit of complaint.

He was able to run to a nearby residence for help.

The victim picked Wyatt out from a photo.

He was previously convicted of assault in October and has a pending charge of carrying a dangerous weapon with intent to go armed, court records show. As of Wednesday morning, he remained in the jail on a $150,000 bond.

His next court date is set for June 13 before Hamilton County Sessions Court Judge Clarence Shattuck.
