MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

A Murfreesboro man is raising the alarm about the dangerous road he lives near. A speeding car slammed into his house late Monday night in just the latest of dozens of crashes on that curve.

James Brown was asleep when the sound of the crash woke him up about 11 p.m.

"I saw this yellow car. I said, 'Oh, my God!' I didn't know if there was going to be bodies laying around there or what," Brown said.

A young woman was pinned inside the yellow Volkswagen.

"All she kept saying was, 'I'm so sorry. Please don't call the police. I don't want to go to jail.' And she said, 'Can you please turn my car over so I can go? I need to get home to my boyfriend,'" Brown said.

The driver was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

A neighbor saw the car first hit a mailbox then go airborne, slamming into a truck.

The car then hit the roof of Brown's house before landing upside-down next to the porch.

"Four wheels never touched the ground until they hit that house," Brown said.

The neighbor who witnessed the crash says the woman was speeding around the dangerous curve in the 2700 block of Blackman Road.

"It happens like every month there's a serious crash in front of the house," Brown said.

Brown says there's been so many accidents on this stretch of Blackman Road the trees have all bald spots. Once, he says, someone even hit a postal worker.

The roads department says there are signs warning drivers about the curve, but Brown believes someone will die if something more isn't done.

"Insurance will take care of this, but insurance doesn't fix broken hearts and broken people and the people that affects," he said.

Brown says police found alcohol bottles and a marijuana pipe in the driver's car.

It's unclear whether those played a factor in the crash, and police have not said whether the driver will be charged.
