Some overly curious birds caused a brief power outage in downtown Chattanooga Monday morning.

Roughly 744 customers were impacted when birds got into some of the equipment at the 10th Street substation, according to EPB spokesperson John Pless.

The substation powers about one-third of customers downtown. EPB crews had to manually reset the substation and power was restored not long after.

Crews are now working to determine how the birds got into the station.
