UPDATE: Riverbend road closures

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
Road closures for the setup of the Riverbend Festival began Sunday, June 1 and will end Thursday, June 19.

Added to the affected roads will be U.S. 27 exits that will be closed from 10 p.m. to midnight during each evening of Riverbend:
  • 4th Street exits traveling north and south
  • Manufacturers Road exits traveling north and south
These exits will be closed to assist with traffic and crowd control. Anyone wishing to pick up people after the evening festivities will need to arrive prior to 10 p.m.

Other routes closed to traffic during Riverbend:

  • Riverside Drive/Riverfront Parkway between Aquarium Way and Molly Lane
  • Veterans Bridge southbound exit ramp to Riverside Drive
  • Power Alley between Riverfront Parkway and Aquarium Way
  • Chestnut Street between Riverfront Parkway and Aquarium way 


Bessie Smith Strut Road Closures:
  • M. L. King Blvd between Georgia Avenue and Peeples Street
  • Lindsay Street between Patten Parkway and East 1st  Street
  • Houston Street between East 8th Street and East 10th Street
  • King Street between East 10th Street and M.L. King Boulevard
  • Foster Street between East 10th Street and M.L. King Boulevard
  • Mabel Street between East 8th Street and M.L. King Boulevard
  • Douglas Street between East 8th Street and East 10th Street
  • University Street between East 8th Street and East 10th Street


All streets listed above will be closed from 11:00 am until 11:00 pm on Monday June 9, 2014.
