The Siskin Children's Institute in East Brainerd closed it's doors for the final time Friday.

President John Garrimond told Channel 3 in February a variety of factors played into the shut down including issues with funding.

Farrimond says out of the 116 children at the East Brainerd Early Learning Center, just 12 are diagnosed with special needs and that ratio was expected to drop next year.

Siskin's non-profit services have constant waiting list for its downtown center.

Siskin is looking to add additional classrooms at its downtown location.
